About Us

Equine Partners CIC (EP) is a Community Interest Company serving the people of West Sussex.

What is a CIC?

Quote from the CIC website -

"Community Interest Companies (CICs) are limited companies, with special additional features, created for the use of people who want to conduct a business or other activity for community benefit, and not purely for private advantage. This is achieved by a "community interest test" and "asset lock", which ensures that the CIC is established for community purposes and the assets and profits, are dedicated to these purposes. Registration of a company as a CIC has to be approved by the Regulator who also has a continuing monitoring and enforcement role."

We provide Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) services, Therapeutic Horsemanship, Pony Share and Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation. EP have trained volunteers and horses. The horses act as silent intermediaries, acting as teachers in facilitated exercises for vulnerable people of all ages.

A lot of our current work is focused on some of the key areas of deprivation including Littlehampton, Crawley and many rural areas. West Sussex has become relatively more deprived since 2007. In 2010 the county was ranked 130th out of a total of 152 upper tier local authorities.  In 2009 22,640 children were living in relative poverty.

We are based in Wisborough Green, West Sussex.

Equine Partners CIC provides support for families who are facing challenges, either relational, emotional and behavioral or due to health/education concerns.  We support those for whom

life's challenges make a significant impact on them This can be short term i.e. 6 EAL sessions or long term ongoing Pony Share or Therapeutic Horsemanship over months or years.
